History of the Château

Creation
This imposing residence was built in Autignac in the middle of the 19th century under the leadership of the father of Mr. Pierre André Louis de VIGNE LAVIT, first occupant of the place, wine owner and notable of the town. The successive generations of this family will hold their place within the viticulture and the local assemblies. After a flourishing history, the region plunged into a wine crisis against a backdrop of phylloxera. From these dark years of crisis and war, the vineyard gradually recovered.

Today, thanks to the passion of a few winegrowers, the rebirth of the Faugères vineyard is largely confirmed. It is in this context that Denis Feigel and Eric de Turckheim decided to revive this castle and restore it to its former glory. Their common desire is to participate fully in the renewal of this millennial vineyard and to share this dream come true with their friends and passing guests.

An architectural bias

Eric de Turckheim decided to translate the elegance and purity of the wines into a contemporary creation by calling on the architectural firm Larroche et Joyeux , and to restore its wine-growing vocation to the village castle , while strengthening its association with Martine and Denis Feigel.

This daring and resolutely contemporary approach underlines the harmonious and refined lines, signature of a demanding art of living. The architectural inspiration marked by the taste for perfection gives every detail its importance to create a serene atmosphere to the delight of the guests of this residence. Lounges and glass roofs, bathed in light and furnished in a designer spirit, open onto magnificent terraces overlooking the green gardens, a true haven of peace.
