Visits & Tasting

Details of the activity

1999 is the first vintage of Prés Lasses, an estate created by two friends passionate about wine. They then bought a few plots of old vines in the Faugères vineyard and put their vats in Autignac. Denis Feigel, after a career divided between winemaking and wine distribution, realizes a dream by launching his own wine, since 2005 his son Boris has assumed technical responsibility for the estate. Today the estate represents more than 36 ha in total, including 30 ha in production, many of which are old vines, in particular 7 ha of Carignan. The vineyard is cultivated in organic farming; the vitality of the soils and the balance of the vineyard are priorities, so as to promote their durability and the character of the wines. The Faugères vineyard is spread over the tormented relief of the last foothills of the Cévennes north of Béziers. It is a small appellation on a schist terroir, the soils are very filtering and not very fertile and the vine plunges its roots deeply to find the elements that make up great wines. Our harvests are manual and carefully sorted. Cellar work is classic and not very interventionist. Oenological inputs, apart from a low dose of sulfur (sometimes…), are omitted and the wines are generally bottled without fining or filtration. Aging, which lasts between 18 and 36 months, is carried out in raw concrete vats and oak barrels with a small proportion of new barrels. We seek to produce wines for gastronomy, capable of aging, transparent with regard to the expression of the terroir and the vintages and expressing themselves with finesse and complexity.
