Minerva: Cathar City

Minerve can be visited at the pace of your steps , from the bottom of the Cesse or Brian canyons, to the highest streets of the city , at the foot of the old castle.

The natural bridges are two real tunnels dug by the Cesse, under tens of meters of rock. These bridges, 228 meters long for one and 126 meters for the other, are among the most curious geological sites in the Hérault .

From there, enter the village via the Porte-Basse and the remains of the ramparts , the Puits Saint-Rustique, under the threatening gaze of the "Malvoisine" (reproduction of a trebuchet used during the siege of 1210). My steps lead me through the cobbled streets, to the stele dedicated to the Cathars (the "Dove of Light"). Then the walk to the foot of the Candela , the last octagonal vestige of the medieval castle (13th century).
